License Commission · Meeting of June 11, 2026

Woburn's License Commission rejected public drinking areas and opted in to a one-hour closing extension. At a special meeting, Chairman Tommy Scheffnitz and Commissioners McGrath and Fallon voted 3-0 to deny the public consumption option under the new state pilot law signed June 8. They then approved the second option, letting licensed premises stay open one hour past their usual closing time, not to 3 a.m.

A member said no club had contacted the commission, and members said they would review the decision in two weeks. A member said the extension "doesn't mean everybody can stay open until 3 o'clock."
